I’m pleased to share positive news with our clients and business partners. Spring Bank continues to increase our list of clients as we continue to meet the needs of privately owned businesses located in our market area. Our client retention rate remains at a high level, indicating that our commitment providing our clients the attention you deserve is appreciated. In turn, I appreciate the trust our clients put in Spring Bank. Together we can play our part to build a stronger local economy.
Expanding Spaces, Expanding Services
If you happen to visit Spring Bank in the coming months you will notice that we are expanding our footprint at our current location by an additional 1,350 square feet. This expansion will accommodate our planned increase in staff allowing us to continue to provide the personalized service and attention you expect. The expansion work is scheduled to begin June 1st and should be completed within 30 to 45 days.
We also continue to look at how we can make it even easier for you to bank with us, whether onsite or online. We recently updated the design of our online banking section and added new features. We’re also exploring mobile banking platforms for business. Currently, we’re focused on adding and enhancing business deposit products and services.
Growing High School Financial Literacy Program
April is National Financial Literacy month. So it’s time to report that we’ve expanded our high school financial literacy program. The program is designed to bring complex financial concepts to life for today’s digital generation. Spring Bank was the first bank in Southern Wisconsin, and one of the first statewide, to sponsor the EverFi financial literacy platform during the 2011-2012 school year at Brookfield Central High School.
To date, Spring Bank has invested $21,000 impacting more than 800 students who have completed almost 3,500 hours of financial literacy education using the latest in new media technologies including video, 3-D gaming, avatars and social networking. Students who participated in Spring Bank’s program in 2013-2014 achieved an average of 91 percent on their post assessments - an improvement of 22 percent from pre-assessments.
Now that we have a significant amount of data that proves the program’s success, it was an easy decision to expand our financial support to start programs at Brookfield East at the start of this school year and recently at Wauwatosa East and Wauwatosa West High Schools. Following Spring Bank’s lead, nearly 20 Wisconsin banks, including BMO Harris and TCF Bank, now sponsor the EverFi platform in 85 schools across Wisconsin. The program was recently approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a “trusted resource” educational tool.
I recently appeared on WTMJ TV4’s Wisconsin Tonight program with Brookfield East teacher and business department chair Jason Kruse to demonstrate EverFi and discuss the importance of this program. You can watch the interview at this link:
Sharing Our Honor Flight Experience at ABA
Additionally, I also had the opportunity to share our experience supporting The Stars & Stripes Honor Flight organization at the American Bankers Association Community Bankers Convention. The Honor Flight Program flies WWII Veterans on a one day trip to Washington DC in providing our valued Veterans an opportunity to visit the WWII Memorial built in their honor. My presentation was part of the convention’s Spark session during which I shared my experience of the Honor Flight and how special that day has become to me.
Fastest Growing Firms
Spring Bank was honored in 2013 to be named a Fastest Growing Firms award winner by the Business Journal. The awards honor the fastest growing mid-market companies in greater Milwaukee and now we want to help recognize other deserving businesses. For the second consecutive year, we’re the official bank sponsor of this awards program. Help us spotlight successful growing businesses by submitting a nomination today at www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/nomination/72461. The deadline to nominate is May 15th.
You can learn more about some of Spring Bank’s successful and growing clients on our website. We’ve added new video conversations with executives from iCAFe, ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board and OS Healthcare, Inc. at the Customer Experience section of our home page.
Again, thank you for choosing Spring Bank for your financial service needs. By maintaining a fortress balance sheet, Spring Bank is in position to meet the growing needs of our clients and continues to invest in people, technology and services to meet the ever changing financial needs of individuals and privately owned business in Southeast Wisconsin.
